Commissioning

Whether you have a clear idea in mind, or need some inspiration and guidance, we will work closely with you to ensure you are completely satisfied with the end result.

To commission a piece of furniture, call or e-mail and we can arrange a meeting to discuss your plans. The consultation is free of charge and usually takes place in your home, so we can take some initial measurements and discuss your ideas. You may be very clear on what you want or we’re happy to advise on how best to use the space and what may suit the room aesthetically. If it’s for storage, as obvious as it seems, it’s important to consider what will be stored and ease of access. Wardrobes can have a large variety of interior fittings, shelves, rails, drawers, etc and will be in constant use, so typically we spend a good deal of time with clients discussing and advising on how best to fit them out.

Once we’ve established a design, materials and finish, we will send a written quote. If you decide to go ahead we put the job into the planning schedule and will visit again to take detailed measurements, from which we produce an initial design drawing. This is then sent to you via e-mail and we can make any alterations needed to ensure that the final product meets your exact requirements.

With the design complete and it nearing the time to start work on your job, we order materials and get in touch to discuss fitting dates. It is also at this time that we require a deposit of 30 percent to be paid. Once the work begins in our workshop you are welcome to visit anytime to see your items being made. We can send photos of progress and also at this stage arrange exact fitting dates.
